Same Name as Another Student? Here Is How to Confirm
Many students share common names, so name searches can show several matches. Confirm your result by matching three details: your roll number, your father’s name, and your subject marks. If all three match, you have found the right entry.
Why use the gazette? It helps teachers check whole classes, parents check siblings, and students verify results when websites crash.
New Rules 2026
Passing Marks for 11th Class 2026: 33% or 40%?
This is the question on every student’s mind this year, so here is the clear answer. The IBCC has raised the minimum passing marks from 33% to 40%. The official IBCC grading FAQ asks all boards to adopt it from the 2026 annual exams. However, boards are rolling it out in phases, running through 2028.
So which passing rule applies to your board this year? Sindh boards, FBISE, AJK, KIU, AKU-EB and Ziauddin Board already use 40%. Punjab, however, still applied 33% in its 2026 9th class result. That means Punjab’s 11th class result will most likely follow the 33% rule. We will confirm this from the official gazette on 22 October.

The New IBCC Grading System, Explained Simply
The old A+ to F grades are being replaced with a new ten-grade scale. The top grade, A++, is given for marks between 96% and 100%. Marks below 40% now fall into the “U” grade, which means Ungraded. GPA and CGPA were dropped after universities raised concerns about grade-based admissions.

At FBISE, regular students did slightly better than the overall figure, at 67.59%. At Swat Board, 2,563 students earned the top A-1 grade.
Why Does Peshawar Board Show a 99% Pass Rate?
That 99.10% looks amazing, but it tells only half the story. It combines students who passed with students who were promoted to 12th class. Only 31,169 of 63,605 candidates actually cleared every subject. That works out to roughly 49% on a strict pass basis.
Mathematics was the toughest paper at Peshawar, with just a 41.70% pass rate. Only 7,301 of 17,507 maths candidates managed to clear it.
Punjab 11th Class Result 2025 – How Students Did Last Year
Last year gives you a good idea of what to expect this time. Punjab boards announced the 2025 result on 15 October at 10:00 AM. Across all nine boards, pass rates ranged from 43.46% at BISE Rawalpindi to 62.37% at BISE DG Khan. Combined, 430,777 of 796,609 candidates passed, a pass rate of 54.08%.

Lahore Board 2025 at a Glance
Lahore is one of Punjab’s largest boards for 11th class students. In 2025, 153,526 regular and 22,424 private candidates took the exam. Girls outnumbered boys, with 103,260 female and 72,690 male candidates. Science students numbered 108,269, compared with 67,681 in the Arts group.

Lahore Board Pass Rate: Ten Years, Almost No Change
In 2014, BISE Lahore recorded a 52.55% pass rate in Part-I. Eleven years later, in 2025, the figure stood at 53.77%. That is only about one point of improvement in over a decade. It shows why 11th class needs steady preparation, not last-minute studying.
Group-Wise Pass Percentage 2025
Your study group makes a big difference to your chances of passing. Here is how each group performed at two major Punjab boards last year.

Humanities had the lowest pass rate at Lahore Board. Commerce swung sharply, from 66% at Lahore to just 47% at Faisalabad. Pre-Engineering students did far better at Faisalabad than at Lahore.
Which Subjects Do Students Find Hardest?
Mathematics was the weakest science subject at Lahore, with a 66.36% pass rate. Physics reached 82.94%, Chemistry 78.02% and Biology 77.67% at the same board. Faisalabad followed the same pattern, with Mathematics at 71.98% and Statistics at 71.36%.
Language papers were much kinder to students. At Lahore, English passed at 88.39% and Urdu at 96.27%.
Girls vs Boys: Who Performed Better?
Girls clearly outperformed boys at Faisalabad Board in 2025. Girls passed at 63.47%, while boys managed only 45.79%. The gap was widest in Humanities, where regular boys passed at just 29.08%.
This is a long-running trend across Punjab. Back in 2014, Lahore girls passed at 62.36%, against 41.86% for boys.

Position holders are the students who score the highest marks in their board. Punjab boards usually announce them a day before, or on the morning of, the result. In 2026, Lahore named its 12th class toppers at 4:00 PM, a day early. So expect the 11th class position holders around 21 October.
How Position Holders Are Honoured
Punjab boards hold special ceremonies to celebrate their top students every year. In 2025, 11th class toppers received certificates and shields at these events. For the 2025 12th class result, first position holders also received a laptop and cash prizes.

Failing one paper can feel scary, but it is rarely the end of the road. Every board gives you a clear way forward. Your options depend on which board you belong to.
Punjab Boards: Reappear With Your 12th Class Exam
In Punjab, failing a paper does not mean repeating the whole year. You simply reappear in that subject alongside your Part-II exam next year. BISE Lahore confirmed this rule in its official 2025 Part-I gazette.
FBISE: Second Annual Examination
Federal Board students have a faster route to clear failed papers. Failing and absent candidates can sit the HSSC 2nd Annual Examination 2026. You can also re-sit selected papers there to improve your marks.
KPK Boards: Promotion With Pending Papers
KPK boards promote many students to 12th class even with pending papers. At Peshawar, 31,864 candidates were promoted this way in 2026. Check your DMC carefully to see which papers you still need to clear.
Not Happy With Your Marks? Apply for Rechecking
If your marks seem wrong, you can ask the board to recheck your paper. BISE Lahore accepts online rechecking applications within 15 days of the result. Rechecking confirms your marks were added correctly and no answer went unchecked. For a 22 October result, the window closes around 6 November.
